Its was announced today that Volkswagen would be the ‘Official’ Car of AtlĂ©tico de Madrid for a year. Last year there were rumours that the club were going to sign a deal that would see the famous VW design on the Atleti shirt. For now it seems that this the deal will resemble one the club shares with Click Seguros, Mahou etc which are seen as partnership sponsors more than a main sponsor. It is worth pointing out that these deals are quiet common in England, i.e. Manchester United have a deal with Audi and Arsenal have a deal with Citroen. The players received a new Beetle for all their hard work, remember what happened when Kia did something similar? News that AtlĂ©tico are still looking for sponsors for the shirt has not gone away with stories that the club are now looking to Qatar.

Mirai_TorresWe are having such a deal in Cologne with Ford. Here most of the players are keeping to it because the press LOVES to write it when they are not coming with their club cars interpretating unprofessional behaviour into the players and use it against the club.
I mean if I had to chose between a Beetle and a Lamborghini I’d NOT take the Beetle

palcThis wont have a good effect on the teams performances. The players needs confidence. No way they would be more confident riding that ridiculous looking car!
